| Summary, etc. | Le fil rouge qui unit l’humanisme de l’autre homme proposé par Emmanuel Levinas et sa défense des droits de l’homme en tant que droits de l’autre homme, peut être isolé dans l’interrogation critique sur la « dureté essentielle » de la loi. Le caractère général et abstrait de celle-ci, basée sur la « logique du genre », court toujours le risque d’écraser la fragilité du particulier, dont elle aurait dû être l’abri. Dès lors, le sens fondamental de l’éthique cherché par Levinas – orientant sa relecture du Talmud en termes de casuistique – revient à « surveiller le général à partir du particulier ». Une telle vigilance – en même temps éthique et herméneutique – se précise comme une véritable « percée » vers la singularité chaque fois unique d’autrui. |
