520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Poe.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Lacan’s different meanings of the Real, among which the a object cause of desire, trauma, female pleasure, fading of the subject, join themselves in a negative apprehension which isolates its privative nature, its withdrawal from Symbolic or Imaginary, its exception status. Such a concept arises from different origins : it was first mingle with the imaginary « little other » in the analysis of envy. But it owes a lot to anthropological conceptions : Bataille’s, who sees the object of desire as loss or waste, Mauss’s, Gernet’s, Levi-Strauss’s, who consider it as an object of symbolic exchange in a bound gift economy, as well as blessed with ambivalent power, benefic and malefic. As evidences : some hesitations of Lacan regarding the real, imaginary or symbolic status of this object, at the time he was reading Poe’s Purloined Letter.
