The first one is a French woman, an anarchist activist, the second one is a republican teacher exiled with his family in France at the end of the Spanish civil war. This paper presents the various personal documents of these two collections in relation with the historical events of the Spanish Civil War, the Retirada and Franco’s dictatorship. These ego-documents do not only illustrate the biographies of Lamberet and Pérez Melón as well as their political and artistic evolutions, but also outline different approaches of the same political commitment in favor of the Spanish Republic. | ||
