520 _aThe “Healthy School” approach (HSA) is considered to be an innovative means of fundamentally reforming the promotion and prevention of public health in Quebec schools. An analysis of the dissemination of HSA provides information on how a policy conceived by the healthcare system is accepted in schools. Focusing on the actual implementation of this approach enables the capturing of the process of “sanitizing” the school space. The HSA is utterly complex, which leaves plenty of room for interpretation by local actors. Still, the tools afforded by public policy act as guides for implementation and foster a strategy of local penetration into the school system based on the commitment of the actors in the school, considered to be the “promoters of the approach.”
