Le premier versant de cet article est un rappel rapide de l’histoire des établissements spécialisés sous l’angle de leur relation chaotique avec l’institution scolaire. Il met avant que l’importante évolution législative, réglementaire, notionnelle à laquelle nous assistons est certainement l’indice d’un rapprochement susceptible de modifier profondément ce secteur et celui de l’école, incitée à devenir inclusive. Le second apporte un contrepoint pragmatique en montrant les actions qu’une directrice d’IEM et son équipe ont impulsées afin de s’inscrire de façon concrète, réaliste, porteuse de réussite, dans ce vaste mouvement ; une monographie montre comment ces aides se sont articulées pour élaborer et mettre en œuvre le projet de formation d’un adolescent.

The first part of this article is a brief summary of the history of specialized institutions from the viewpoint of their chaotic relationship with educational institutions. It stresses the considerable changes in rules, laws, and notions that we are currently witnessing is undoubtedly the sign of a trend that may change the sector of specialized institutions as well as schools, which are encouraged to become inclusive. The second part of the article provides a pragmatic counterpoint, presenting initiatives that a director of a medical-educational establishement and his team initiatived so as to join this vast trend in a concrete, realistic, and propitious way. A monograph shows how these types of assistance are structured so as to prepare and implement the educational program for an adolescent.
