RésuméCet article propose une réflexion autour des effets possibles de l’usage du football dans le travail social. Reprenant une analyse d’un centre de préformation de football, l’étude montre la relation étroite entre la sélection et l’apprentissage dispensé par l’institution dans la construction d’une élite sportive.Cette socialisation dépasse les simples savoir-faire footballistiques. En réalité, les logiques du concours de sélection font résonner les dispositions sociales des candidats à intégrer ce processus de construction de l’élite footballistique.

When soccer takes itself for a social ladderThis article proposes a reflection on the possible effects of using soccer in social work. From the analysis of a pre-training soccer centre, the study shows the close relation between the selection and the teaching provided by the institution in the construction of a sports elite.That socialization goes beyond the simple soccer know-how. Indeed the logics of the selection contest resonate the social dispositions of the candidates to integrate this process of construction of a soccer elite.
