RésuméL’occupation du terroir, pour les périodes laténienne et gallo-romaine précoce, à la confluence de la vallée de la Deûle et de la vallée de la Marque, est encore mal connue. Les fouilles menées sur le chantier de Marcq-en-Barœul, « Le Cheval Blanc », ont permis de développer nos connaissances sur le sujet et d’apporter un nouvel éclairage.L’ensemble des vestiges mis au jour met ainsi en valeur une occupation rurale continue et croissante, depuis le début de second Âge du Fer jusqu’au iie siècle de notre ère, sous la forme d’enclos fossoyés à vocation agro-pastorale délimitant des zones d’habitats et d’activités diverses.

Rural Habitat in Marcq-en-Baroeul, « Le Cheval Blanc » (Nord)Land occupation, during the Latenian and early Gallo-Roman periods, at the junction of the Deûle and of the Marque rivers, is still little known. Excavations carried out on the « Le Cheval Blanc » construction works in Marcq-en-Barœul, has permitted us to increase our knowledge of this topic and to shed a new light on its character.All the remains brought to light point at a continuous and expanding rural occupation from the beginning of the second Iron Age down to the IInd century of our era, under the form of ditched enclosures corresponding to an agro-pastoral use with the delimiting of plots of land dedicated to dwelling or various other activities.
