N2  - Le processus de modernisation qui intéresse l’île de La Réunion à partir du milieu des années 1960 se produit à un rythme très soutenu sur un substrat historique particulier, dans un environnement géographique et géo-politique spécifique. Il génère, en trois décennies, des mutations spectaculaires qui sont accentuées par la transformation du paysage médiatique (76-86) et la généralisation, en cours, des communications numérisées. L’émergence d’un espace public local et la pensée en réseau engendrent une déterritorialisation du lien social, une sociabilité de la distance et posent la question de la citoyenneté dans une société insulaire et multiethnique; Social Change and the Generalization of Communication in the Reunion SocietyThe modernisation process in which Reunion Island is involved as from the mid sixties happens at a sustained pace, in a particular historical context and a specific geographical and geopolitical environment. During three decades, this process has brought spectacular changes which are intensified by the transformation of the media scene (76-86) and the actual widespread use of numerised communications. The emergence of a public local sphere and networks result in a transformation of social link and distant sociability. It also questions about the concept of citizenship in an insular and multiethnic society
