Cyberjustice: A Key Quality Factor in Administrative Justice
- 2016.
39
The digitisation of administrative justice is presented as a means to reduce costs and speed up procedures, thus improving the quality of administrative justice while keeping costs down. Although it improves plaintiffs’ access to the law and courts, the potential requirement to submit legal referrals to courts on line and the increased use of videoconferencing could in certain cases affect the quality of justice rendered. Digitisation also influences the way the courts function and the work of the judge. As a conclusion, progress towards “administrative cyberjustice” will only ensure quality if its implementation and effects are carefully monitored.
