N2  - Henri Bois’ religious psychology inherited from Pierre Janet his way of defining the notions of subconsciousness and unconsciousness. According to him, the unconsciousness refers to the fact that consciousness fails to prioritize the psychic tendencies lying in the subconsciousness. Applying these notions to religious experience, Henri Bois distinguishes two stages. The religious stage consists of the inner dialogue, located at the level of the subliminal self, between the divine Spirit and the human spirit. The psychological stage allows this spiritual experience of the subliminal self to reach consciousness through the mediation of religious beliefs
