<br/><br/> RésuméRien ne brise autant l’homme dans son corps que la douleur chronique qui n’offre pas d’évidence d’un trouble physique grave ou d’une autre pathologie. Comment patient, famille et médecin font-ils face à une douleur, lorsque celle-ci n’est pas corrélée à une pathologie bio-médicale bien établie ?Les auteurs soulignent l’importance d’un regard phénoménologique pour la pratique et, en tenant compte des répercussions de la douleur sur la vie familiale, proposent aux médecins et aux thérapeutes de fournir une aide aussi à la famille. Ce faisant ils vont aider le patient lui-même.  Chronic pain and somatoform disorders is a illness with significant physical, psychological, family and social impacts. How do patients, family and physicians deal with suffering when it does not come with a bio-medically established pathology?Our contribution throws a phenomenological light on chronic pain. By helping the family members to cope with the chronic pain, the physician and the psychotherapist also help the patient himself. This paper addresses the dilemma posed by chronic illness that offers no demonstrable evidence of serious physical disorders or pathology.
