<br/><br/> Cet article s’intéresse aux interactions entre les organismes et leur environnement dans deux champs scientifiques contemporains : l’hypothèse Gaïa et la théorie de la construction de niche. En effet, ce sont eux qui ont le plus œuvré à proposer des approches théoriques nouvelles mettant en avant l’existence de relations dialectiques entre les organismes et leur environnement.Nous pensons qu’il existe des ambiguïtés conceptuelles importantes à propos des termes d’organisme et d’environnement. Le concept d’environnement étant un concept relationnel, des difficultés conceptuelles et théoriques importantes résultent d’un manque d’attention porté au statut des entités biologiques en jeu : de qui l’environnement est-il l’environnement? Le cœur de l’article s’attache à souligner et résoudre partiellement ces difficultés.  This article is interested by the interactions between the organisms and their environment in two contemporary scientific fields: the hypothesis of Gaïa and the theory of the construction of niche. Indeed, it is them which have worked the most to propose new theoretical approaches putting forward the existence of dialectical relations between organisms and their environment. We think that important abstract ambiguities exist about the terms of organism and environment. The concept of environment being a relational concept, important abstract and theoretical difficulties result from a lack of attention about status of the biological entities concerned: of whom is the environment the environment? The heart of the article attempts to underline and to solve partially these difficulties.
