Sport and the French Communist Party

<br/><br/> Physical and sports activities are often considered to be apolitical, beyond the reach of political divides. However, there has been a long-standing reflection within certain groups, particularly the French Communist Party, which remains poorly understood by many, even its members. This article seeks to revisit its origins and trace the evolutions of the positions held by communist activists in light of their sociology, while also highlighting some of their contradictions that partly stem from the desire to promote a marginalized issue in the political arena, while also turning it into a matter of public concern and criticizing its current organization, and without losing the support of sport enthusiasts.
