The psychoanalytical work presented applied to the family of an anorexic patient, tries to reveal the “latent” field of meaning lying under the “manifest” speech of the family. Analysing the defensive solution elaborated by the single members and by the whole family’s group in facing pain, therapeutic process runs into unconscious fantasies, transmitted by generations and focused on the analysis of a dramatic story between brothers. Then unconscious fantasies, revealing an uncanny unknown were developed, showing a whole sequence which departing from images of decapitated dogs, children and dolls went on to living dead dolls, children and taboos, to dying little girls, a father killer, an immobile grand mother within a suspended grief.
