En analysant des créations picturales issues de publications socialistes, communistes et anarchistes d’Europe et d’Amérique latine, émises durant les six premiers mois du conflit, ce travail vise à comprendre pourquoi le camp républicain espagnol représenta dès les premiers jours de la guerre civile, un enjeu, un modèle et un idéal; This article examines why multiple leftist political forces and organizations all over the world were politically involved in the Spanish civil war (1936 – 1939). By analyzing various examples of art pieces and illustrations published in a number of socialist, communist and anarchist publications in Europe and Latin America, we seek to understand why the Spanish Republican camp has been an issue, a model and an ideal for these parties since the outset of the war
