La citoyenneté entre les frontières Cet article, à la fois sociologique et philosophique, propose de comprendre la citoyenneté comme un processus et pour cela discute les voies qui permettent de circuler de l’idée au fait et du fait à l’idée, des définitions contingentes aux significations inactuelles et réciproquement. Cette proposition, à son tour, implique de dépasser les frontières du politique et du non-politique, et de prêter une attention politique aux manifestations dérangeantes de l’incivilité.

Citizenship between the Lines An important question at the present time is how to go beyond the limits of the political and the non-political and to confront politically worrisome manifes-tations of incivility. Such sociological and philosophical considerations can be made by understanding citizenship as a process, by discussing the ways that allow us to go from the idea to the deed and from the deed to the idea, and from contingent definitions to more general meanings and vice-versa.
