Type de matériel :

The subject’s failure to inscribe a traumatic experience in his or her psyche can be revealed, in particular, in the raw images that invade it. Can the image, then, support the symbolization of the traumatic experience? Based on two clinical situations, this article questions the figures, effects, and fates of the image in the subject’s journey through psychic trauma. We will observe that by using the image in testimony and photography, the subject is progressively able to distance himself or herself from it and share his or her experiences.
