When a fetal anomaly is detected, and in particular agenesis of the corpus callosum (ACC), couples are faced with a deeply upsetting experience and a difficult decision: whether to continue or terminate the pregnancy. Diagnostic and prognostic uncertainty is a major challenge, leaving a specific and lasting psychological mark on these couples, and on their conjugal and family relationships. Caregivers have a crucial role to play in supporting these families during the prenatal and postnatal periods.
