The pragmatic case study method was followed: concurrent with the therapy, the treatment process and result were assessed independently, namely, by measuring the therapeutic alliance, marital satisfaction and individual symptomatology. The objective was to demonstrate how brief therapy can be adapted to elderly couples by taking into account certain factors specific to seniors.
