Stigmatizing the Poor Neighborhood: Minefield or Passage to the Outside? Interview with Youths

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2006. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : By presenting passages from a study conducted in Strasbourg, this paper contributes, starting with elements contained in the speech of young people, to the debate about urban violence. Through the concept of territory and its stigmatizing form, it is a question here of bringing an additional view to a phenomenon subjected to all kinds of “speculation” and analysis, the word is given to the young people whom I could question. In these times of excessive media coverage, it is interesting to underline the form of types of speech and their directions, and even the absence of direction.
