Sandwich Training and the Risk of Being Overselective

On the basis of a quantitative survey of administrative records, observations of recruitment interviews, and semi-structured interviews, this article gives an account of the recruitment process in sandwich training. We first seek to understand what makes a selection possible. Then we show in what ways and on what criteria this selection process operates. To conclude, we show that the recruitment channel constituted by sandwich training tends to increase selectivity.
