Emmanuelle Chervet, in her clinical presentation, proposes to link together transitionality and the uncanny nature of the counter-transference in order to more constructively consider cases in which the signifying process has been ill-used, particularly in the context of traumatic re-enactions. She highlights the importance of the counter-transferential dimension in so far as the latter sheds light on the potential quality of the transitional space on both a technical and metapsychological level.
