The Ministry of Finance is the government department that in the 20th century had the most difficulty and took the most time to appoint women to executive positions. The author examines how, despite the historical, legal, and sociological obstacles, female administrators who marked the 1939?1981 period succeeded in infiltrating the halls of the ministry at Branly Embankment and Rue de Rivoli and accessing senior posts.
