Based on clinical cases, this paper discusses the varied and unexpected reactions of fathers to their children’s identity struggles. These struggles pertain to anatomical problems that challenge sexual identity and reproductive capacities. In instances of childhood illnesses, the father’s voice is often not heard as practitioners tend to listen primarily to the mother.
