Latency and Sexuality: An Improbable Couple?
Type de matériel :
16
This article discusses the «?treatment?» of infantile sexuality throughout the latency period during which time it is customary to suggest the desexualisation of psychic functioning and object relations. After having defined their concepts and having recalled which questions are asked today concerning the very existence of the latency period, the authors expose their observations as to the modalities of sexual expression in Rorschach and tat projective test material, gathered in a clinical and research framework. As they see it, most of the latency processes are found, in a redistribution of the drive cathexis onto processes of representation and symbolization whose failings characterise the psychopathology of this period.
