The Shared Trauma and Its Reception in a Foster Home

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2008. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This exploratory study focuses on the complex relationship between a child entrusted in a foster home, a mother victim of violence, remained at home, and a father imprisoned for domestic violence. When these three issues appear in the home, the child makes his investment to fail until s/he is sure of the protection of the mother at home. This observation leads us to experiment individual and group interviews with the mother and child in order to lead to a new formulation of the shared trauma. The first observations highlight the children’s need of protection and repair of the mother, that the mothers experience privation, and the updating of the link which carries traumatic traces. That raises the question of how to care.
