By ethnoclinical mediation, we mean psychological help to migrant families or in precariousness which consists, within the association Ahuefa, in a coordination between the action of a psychologist trained in the transcultural clinic, with a interpreter belonging to the same cultural area as the family concerned and made aware of the psychological dimension of the problem of migrants. The ethnoclinical mediation found its raison d’être thanks to the request of medico-psycho-social workers confronted with complex difficulties in their missions of educational follow-up or reception (placement) of children of migrant families who because of their suffering remain confined to their homes. This practice is part of a network with medical, social, educational and judicial institutions. Ternary in its structure, it is defined as a situation with three poles: a group of psychologists which forms a pole; the pole of the patient and his family; and the pole of professionals who carry the demand. The conceptual reference corpus of ethnoclinical mediation as it is exercised at Ahuefa is of ethnopsychanalytic inspiration. It is led by psychologists.
