The symbolic value of the child's symptom
Type de matériel :
25
For the child psychoanalyst, the child's symptom is the expression of an entire unconscious organization, and in no way arises from any re-education; it is a part of a whole, representing an attempt to satisfy a forbidden desire. Therefore, all its unconscious conflicting meaning is the object of psychoanalytic work. In addition, the author examines some of the difficulties caused by the child’s symptom in relation with his/her parents, as well as those experienced by care teams in children’s institutions.
