This research questions the impact of ecological criticism on organizational evolution in a capitalist context. We analyze how radical ecological criticism is defended in an organizational context. This qualitative research is based on the Economies of Worth framework (Boltanski and Thévenot, 1991). It analyzes ecological argumentation and questions its radical character (Lafaye and Thévenot, 1993) through the study of two growing SMEs involved in biodynamics. We analyze the confrontation between the development of a functionalist organizational model and attempts to defend an ecological organizational model, as well as the ambivalent role of CSR in this tension. This research describes the tension brought about by ecological argumentation (Lafaye and Thévenot, 1993) and then explains what it implies for the evolution of companies.
