Type de matériel :

Deindustrialization refers to a considerable process of transformation in Western societies, with economic and social dimensions as well as important political and symbolical consequences. After drawing a historiographical panorama, this paper focuses on the gendered dimension of the deindustrialization and puts an emphasis on the workers’ masculinities, as industrial workers are often stigmatized nowadays. This paper also highlights the link between these changes and increasing environmental concerns, before finally touching on the fruitfulness of the notion of moral economy.
