In France, the consequences of domestic violence on a child’s development have not been substantially explored. Researchers and professionals working in this field have emphasized the lack of French- language instruments to identify these consequences. To remedy this insufficiency and enable the assessment of the situation of the child exposed to domestic violence, this article describes the inventory of instruments available in French in order to measure the impact of domestic violence on the social, cognitive, intellectual and emotional development of children and teenagers (0-18 years-old).
