There is more than one modality of psychical organization in somatic patients. We also know that there are several forms of hysteria. Even though different symptomatologies coexist and alternate, the distinction between hysterical conversion and somatic illnesses is maintained. The difficult and frequent problems of anxiety, of sleepdream states, and the reference to infantile sexuality are studied through the psychotherapies of patients suffering from somatic disorders.
