07. The transformation of university professions or the emergence of a teacher-researcher manager in search of meaning

This article analyzes the transformation of the profession of teacher-researcher in the context of the deployment of new public management in universities. The meaning of work and the professional identity of the teacher-researcher manager, who is seen as an entrepreneur of the self, are thus debated in the context of the management of the public organization that employs them. The two case studies are based on a reflective approach, involving the authors of this article. These teacher-researchers are involved in the administration of their universities and also in the management of diplomas. The research shows an emerging profession, exercised by professionals who are developing entrepreneurship qualities for themselves.
