In the German concentration camps, survivors don’t use derision a lot. Because, on the one hand, in the totalitarian space, survival requires an involment for oneself, and on the other hand because it is impossible to disqualify publicly the SS, without risking to be killed. The survivor can invalidate the word ofextrem violence that surrounds him only by using derison for himself or with some peers, using words that dehumanize those who dehumanize him. But some prisoners, more resourceful, were able to deride more the life in those camps.
