We propose an original typology of the 3540 “research notebooks” hosted on the Hypotheses.org academic blog platform since its creation, through analysis of contributors’ writing practices. The variety of modes of participation on the platform (single contribution, single notebook, collaborations across different blogs, etc.), as well as the evolution of these modes of participation over time, show the increasing importance of co-writing in scientific blogging.
