Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2002. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The relationships between prison guards and prisoners are key elements in understanding the prison world. Today, prisons are characterized by the recognition of prisoners’ rights, the intervention of external organizations in the decisions by prison authorities, and the importance of expert practitioners. This paper analyzes these relationships. Depending on the location and the individuals involved, these relationships appear to be conflicted or negotiated. These types of relationships derive from the individual’s interest and enable the establishment of equilibrium in the prison. Their development demonstrates an evolution in the power relation and reveals the solitude and atomization that occurs in each group.
