How can the philosopher approach a kind of relationship such as that which exists between cancer and sexuality? Also, in the first instance, how can these two words— which are symptoms of our time—be analyzed? In the end, we chose to speak about love and not only about sexuality (too restrictive?), to not beat about the bush as we were invited to by the title (“Below the belt”), but, quite the reverse, to take the risk of going vertiginously straight to the point into what might be the most fragile, the most problematic, but also the most efficient form of therapy.
