Recommendation in readers’ blogs: From influence to prescription
Type de matériel :
70
Based on a corpus of around fifteen readers’ blogs, the author considers the influence of these blogs on the attention and choices of Internet users in regard to reading and literature, with a probable shift from influence to prescription. The informative, semiotic, and organizational approaches adopted by bloggers reflect this desire, and the informational authority that these blogs develop corresponds in effect to the “knowledge difference” that is reflected in prescription. Although the limited surveys available point to a very moderate influence of literary blogs on book purchase, blogs nonetheless provide effective prescriptive recommendation. Their role should be studied further in order to assess its effect on buying, borrowing, and commercial patterns.
