The present article is an attempt to systematize the results obtained in a clinical study about the subjective experience of psychotropic drug consumption. It will involve two stages. First, discourse analysis will be used according to Ricoeur’s concepts of narrative, emplotment, and narrative identity. Secondly, on the basis of an interview extract, the first analysis will be articulated with one based on the hypothesis of the unconscious. We will attempt to show that psychotropic drug consumption may be part and parcel of the intrapsychical conflicts of the subject.
