Résumé Alain Badiou conçoit la « passion du réel » comme un des traits constitutifs du xx e siècle. L’essai propose de saisir la « passion du semblant » comme son envers, ainsi que de reconnaître dans la biopolitique contemporaine le mode d’apparition principal de la « passion du réel ». Dans la constellation de la guerre contre la terreur, la catégorie de l’ Homo sacer rend parfaitement le statut de l’être humain comme l’objet de la biopolitique globale.

Alain Badiou elaborated the notion of the « passion of the real » as one of the key features of the xx th century. The essai attempts to supplement it with the « passion of semblance » as its obverse. The « passion of the real » actualizes itself at its purest in the guise of the biopolitics underlying the present « war on terror » as the actuality of the concept of homo sacer demonstrates.
