| Summary, etc. | Dans le cadre d’une étude de documentation avant restauration, l’IRPA a été commissionné par la Ville de Bruxelles pour dater le portail principal de son Hôtel de Ville. Si la principale question de cette commande portait sur l’ancienneté des boiseries, les résultats, inattendus puisqu’ils concluent à une menuiserie de la première moitié du xv ee siècle (contemporaine des maçonneries), ont mené à approfondir l’étude, grâce l’aide de l’équipe archéologique des MRAH. Des relevés archéologiques ont été réalisés, permettant un examen précis de la structure ; une recherche dans l’iconographie ancienne a été menée, ainsi que de premières tentatives de comparaisons stylistiques avec d’autres portails de la même époque. |

| Summary, etc. | As part of a pre-restoration documentation study, KIK-IRPA was commissioned by the City of Brussels to date the main portal of its Town Hall. Although the main question concerned the antiquity of the woodwork, the results, which unexpectedly showed that the timberwork dates from the first half of the 15th century (contemporary with the masonry), led to the study being pursued in greater depth, with help from the archaeological team of RMAH. Archaeological surveys were conducted and the structure examined precisely; research was carried out into the historical iconography, and initial attempts were made at stylistic comparisons with other portals from the same period. |
