520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. A 17th century cleric researching the history of his monastery. Dom Guillame Le Hule and Richard IAt the end of the 17th century, Guillaume Le Hule, sexton of the Trinity Abbey in Fécamp, wrote a history of the institution mixing real events and legends. He depicted Richard I transforming a modest convent into an important abbey. The Duke’s activities were manifest in various fields : both as administrator and protector of the Church and he had a special relation to the blood of Christ both in relics and to its manifestation during the miracle of the transubstantiation. He built and restored numerous ecclesiastical establishments. In fine, along with his son Richard II, he remained a tutelary figure for the monks and the faithful of Fécamp who considered him a saint.
