| Summary, etc. | Pays de forêt et de savane, la Côte d’Ivoire connaît, depuis les années 1970, une baisse importante des pluies et, corrélativement, une diminution du couvert forestier. Face aux incertitudes du climat et à la réduction des forêts, les paysans adoptent des stratégies conservatoires et régulatrices. Si les agriculteurs se sentent impuissants face à la récession climatique, en raison de son caractère aléatoire, de nouvelles perceptions de l’environnement contribuent à une gestion plus rationnelle des ressources foncières. D’une manière générale, quelle que soit la région, celles-ci se traduisent par de nouvelles pratiques agricoles et de nouvelles formes de mise en valeur : utilisation de ressources foncières autrefois délaissées, notamment des bas-fonds, extension de certaines cultures et adoption de nouvelles variétés moins sensibles aux aléas climatiques, etc. Au-delà des incertitudes liées à la situation politique actuelle troublée du pays, ces évolutions représentent des tendances lourdes contribuant à définir un nouveau rapport des sociétés rurales à leur environnement et au territoire. |

| Summary, etc. | Peasant visions of environmental in Ivory Coast The bioclimatic conditions in the forest-and-savannah-dominated Côte d’Ivoire country have been subjected to a strong decrease in rainfall since the Seventies and correlatively the rain cover forest has been strongly affected. The climatic uncertainty and the decrease in the forest areas lead the farmers to adopt regulating and preserving strategies. While rural population don’t have solution front of climatic variability, because of the unpredictable of climatic variability, new environment perceptions lead to better management of good land. Regardless of the region, such strategies aim to manage wet pits, formerly abandoned, especially lowlands, extension of new crops and adoption of new varieties less sensitive to the climatic risk... Beyond uncertainties in the disturbed political situation in the country, these evolutions represent trends contributing in definition of a new relationship of rural societies with their environment and territory. |
