L’analyse de son mode de production renouvelle la théorie économique de la gouvernance. Elle permet d’expliquer comment des individus aux motivations hétérogènes parviennent à se coordonner sans l’usage d’incitations monétaires. Nous suggérons que le capital social gouverne de manière efficace la communauté bénévole de développeurs. Mais ces dernières années, de nouveaux enjeux marchands poussent certaines entreprises à investir des ressources et des employés dans le développement de logiciels au code ouvert. Dans ce contexte d’hybridation, le succès d’une communauté du libre peut dépendre de sa capacité à renforcer la motivation intrinsèque des développeurs. |

His production model refers to new developments in the economic theory of governance. We suggest that social capital governs the benevolent community where monetary incentives are absent. In this context of hybridization, the self-governed community should be characterized by developers’ intrinsic motivation management. |
