520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Nowadays, local authorities and national authorities are both involved in fighting against early school leaving. Thus schools should work in partnership with local authorities, which is not that easy as the different protagonists belong to different worlds. The interview of two local leaders working in the suburbs of Paris in priority areas and members of town councils – shows that fighting against teen agers early school leaving requires actions from the very beginning of schooling time in primary schools. Working together with all the actors in the town : parents, local organizations, local authorities – is the only way to be successfull in reducing early school leaving. This goal needs to mobilise significant resources in human and social terms. This requires to build up a real and consistent partnership based on trust and the development of networking. |
