Summary, etc. | Dans cet article, nous discutons des défis éducatifs axés sur la conception de service afin de galvaniser l’offre de services touristiques avec une illustration pour la région suisse du Cervin. En effet, axée sur des pratiques commerciales périmées, l’économie touristique de la Suisse perd sa compétitivité. En réponse, il est maintenant essentiel que les destinations touristiques alpines suisses passent à un modèle d’affaires basé sur l’exploitation. Dans cet article, nous expliquons ce contexte difficile, établissons des liens avec la littérature scientifique et détaillons les programmes de conception de services que nous avons mis en œuvre au cours des dernières années à l’École suisse de tourisme pour favoriser l’innovation dans les services touristiques. En particulier, nous développons la thèse suivante. Nous croyons que la conception de service, comme moyen pour favoriser l’innovation, permettra à la région suisse du Cervin de fournir à ses visiteurs une expérience touristique spontanée et authentique. Par conséquent, les enseignants et éducateurs doivent former les étudiants dans ce sens, afin qu’ils acquièrent une appréciation holistique d’une expérience touristique grâce au partage des connaissances. Ainsi, ils seront à même de comprendre et gérer la complexité multiforme des services touristiques. |

Summary, etc. | In this paper, we discuss educational challenges oriented toward service design in order to galvanize the offer of tourism services with an illustration of the Swiss Matterhorn region. Indeed, based on outdated business practices, the tourism economy of Switzerland is losing momentum. In response, it is now vital that Swiss Alpine tourist destinations shift from a construction to an exploitation-based business model. In this paper, we explain this difficult context, make some links with the scientific literature and detail the service design curricula we have implemented over the last years at the Swiss School of Tourism to foster innovation in tourism services. In particular we develop the following thesis. We believe that service design as a way to foster innovation will enable the Swiss Matterhorn Region to stage a spontaneous and authentic revisited tourism experience. Consequently teachers and educators need to train students to gain a holistic appreciation of a touristic experience through knowledge sharing. Thus, they will be able to understand and manage the multifaceted complexity of touristic services. |

Summary, etc. | En este artículo tratamos los retos educativos orientados al diseño de servicios para galvanizar la oferta de servicios turísticos tomando como muestra ilustrativa la Región suiza del Cervino. En efecto, las prácticas comerciales obsoletas en las que está basada la economía turística de Suiza hacen que se esté perdiendo competitividad. Como respuesta, es ahora de suma importancia que los destinos turísticos suizos alpinos pasen de un modelo de negocio basado en la construcción a un modelo basado en la explotación. En este artículo explicamos este complicado contexto, establecemos algunos vínculos con la bibliografía científica y detallamos los programas de diseño de servicios que hemos puesto en práctica en los últimos años en la Escuela Suiza de Turismo para favorecer la innovación en los servicios turísticos. En particular, desarrollamos la siguiente tesis. Creemos que el diseño de servicios, como una forma de promover la innovación, permitirá a la Región suiza del Cervino llevar a cabo una experiencia turística revisitada espontánea y auténtica. En consecuencia, los profesores y educadores deben capacitar a los estudiantes en este sentido, con el objeto de que puedan obtener una apreciación holística de una experiencia turística gracias al intercambio de conocimientos. De este modo, podrán comprender y gestionar la complejidad de las múltiples facetas de los servicios turísticos. |
