Summary, etc. | L’auteur rédige un condensé précis depuis les siècles précédents de la position occupée par l’enfant vis-à-vis des adultes. Il a fallu le xxe siècle en entier pour que l’enfant soit enfin déclaré comme être humain à part entière et non comme un simple subordonné aux adultes. La fessée, parmi toutes les formes de maltraitance, ne doit pas être minorée non plus, ni prônée comme méthode éducative. Elle est toujours une atteinte à l’intégrité de l’enfant, qui a le droit au respect. Par contre, l’auteur n’adhère pas aux positions maximalistes tirées de la pensée d’Alice Miller. L’enfant n’est pas non plus indemne de violence, la pulsion existe dès la naissance et c’est tout l’enjeu d’une éducation à l’écoute de la vie subjective d’un enfant qui permettra de ne pas être violent avec lui. |
