| Summary, etc. | Le 22 novembre 1998, la Congrégation du Culte divin et de la Discipline des sacrements promulgue le nouveau Rituel latin de l’exorcisme, De exorcismis et supplicationibus quibusdam. Depuis le VIIe siècle, ce rituel a été modifié de nombreuses fois. Une de ses relatives grandes nouveautés est la mise en œuvre systématique d’une enquête préalable pour permettre à l’exorciste d’acquérir la certitude morale avant de prendre une quelconque décision de recourir au sacramental de l’exorcisme. |

| Summary, etc. | On the 22nd of November 1998, the Congregation for Divine worship, and the Discipline of the sacraments, promulgated the new Latin Ritual for exorcism, De exorcismis et supplicationibus quibusdam. Since the 7th century, this ritual has been modified many times. One of the relative great innovations is the systematic application of a pre-requisite inquiry to allow the exorcist to acquire moral certainty before taking any decision whatever to have recourse to the sacramental of exorcism. |
