| Summary, etc. | En utilisant à la fois des dossiers de soins, des rapports infirmiers et en interviewant des clients, les auteurs ont dressé un état des lieux de la gestion de la douleur par les équipes infirmières dans 9 services de soins généraux d’un centre hospitalier universitaire, à l’aide d’une analyse descriptive et inférentielle.Le triple éclairage sur les mêmes situations révèle un langage trop vague et un manque de systématisme dans la transmission et l’évaluation de la douleur.De plus, la place et l’importance prises par les actes médicaux délégués lors de ces transmissions, occultent considérablement le rôle des soins infirmiers autonomes.Les auteurs proposent un cadre simple pour la transmission de la douleur susceptible d’en améliorer la gestion. |

| Summary, etc. | Using both nursing documents and verbal reports as well as client interviews, the authors review pain management by nursing teams in 9 wards of a university hospital. The results were obtained using descriptive and inferential analyses.Looking at each situation from three différent viewpoints reveals the absence of a systematic approach to the reporting and évaluation of pain and the usage of a sometimes very vague language.In addition, the preponderance of medically – oriented interventions in the reports considerably overshadowed the autonomous nursing role.The authors propose a basic structure for pain reporting which should help to improve its overall management. |
