Wallon and Piéron were childhood friends. Wallon actively takes part in the development of the National Institute of Vocational Guidance (INOP) which he manages when Pieron is away. They are the two vice-presidents of the education reform commission chaired by Langevin at the Liberation.They meet up in many associations and learned societies.
